Emmetropia Comics was founded by writer, M'Shai S. Dash. A Washington, D.C. native and comic book enthusiast from a young age, Dash reconnected with the medium after attending her first comic book conference in 2017, the East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention. Afterward, while writing across genres and publishing a collection of sci-fi stories, Dash immersed herself in a community of diverse comic book writers and artists before launching Emmetropia Comics in 2024.

Her first effort, Fumes, launches this summer and features artwork from Tiah and Tahilla Ankum, with artistic direction from Greg Burnham.
